About the Role
Virginkar & Associates, Inc. (VAI) is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join our team on major infrastructure programs across key U.S. markets. The selected candidate supports complex infrastructure programs by developing and maintaining detailed project schedules and cost controls. This position requires hands-on experience with CPM scheduling tools and cost analysis techniques, including Oracle Primavera, Project Manager, MS Project, Procore, Asta Powerproject, Fieldwire and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed CPM project schedules using widely used software tools, such as Oracle Primavera, Microsoft Project and others noted above.
Perform schedule impact analysis and develop recovery plans as needed.
Prepare earned value reports, progress updates, and critical path analyses.
Assist in budget development, cost tracking, resource allocation, forecasting, and variance reporting.
Interface with contractors, engineers, and owners to ensure schedule and cost objectives are met.
Analyze construction phasing, resource loading, and schedule risks.
Support preparation of project status reports, dashboards, and executive briefings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
Minimum 6 years of experience in project controls for infrastructure and/or heavy civil construction projects.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, or equivalent platforms.
Proven expertise in scheduling principles, impact assessments, and cost control.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience presenting to executives and client leadership.
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
High ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to team collaboration.
